Schools: Request school account

Only school administrators may request a school account. The authorized administrator can create additional school staff accounts (Enrollers and Mentors) and then enroll their students into MVS courses.

If your district has more than one building, then a school administrator should coordinate with a district administrator before requesting a building account. Please note that districts can move student accounts between their building accounts; e.g., transfer information to a different building within a district (i.e., a middle school student’s information moved to a high school in the same district).

Michigan schools will be required to enter their MDE district and building codes. Non-Michigan schools should enter the district and building code of 00000.

All Parents: Request home-school account

Parents who wish to enroll their students in MVS courses and pay for those courses themselves may request a home school account. Parents fill in their personal information on the Account Request Form (for Home School). They should use their name and personal information to create the account because they will administer their “home school.” (As used here, home school simply means the parent is paying for the courses; this is true whether the child is a public or private school student or the child is being “home-schooled” by a parent.)

Please fill in the “Your Personal Information” form and click the Request Account button to request your home school account.

After MVS  approves the home school account, the parent can enroll their child into MVS courses. It is the responsibility of the parent to do the following before enrolling their child into MVS courses.

  1. Gain permission from their child’s school (not applicable to traditional home-school students). Student athletics who plan to play college sports must speak with their school counselor before enrolling in Plato/Student Direct courses.
  2. Provide appropriate computer equipment and Internet access for their child.
  3. Provide support as the Mentor to oversee student progress, including attendance, in MVS courses.  It is the Parent Mentor’s responsibility to ensure that their child keeps up with the pace of the course.
  4. Provide payment in full.  MVS does not provide payment plans or financial aid.
  5. Report course completion information to their child’s school (not applicable to traditional home-schooled students). MVS will provide a final score, but MVS does not assign grades, grant credit or provide transcripts.
