The MOIS CD contains a large volume of information arranged in a four-step career development model: self-assessment, exploration, decision making and career planning.
Self-Assessment
People are more satisfied when their work matches their interests. Using the MOIS CD, users can enter interest information and see possible careers that match their interests. Some careers become obvious and others are surprises that users will now consider. Counselors and advisors are able to use the crosswalk feature to see tables and entire career lists that might suit the users, as well.
Exploration
Users can explore careers by keywords to find a listing of job titles that link them to printed career information and videos. The Schools categories include area career and technical centers, a national database of postsecondary information, Michigan Career and Technical Center (MTEC) schools, scholarship information and the Michigan Career and Technical Institute. The Library shows all reference materials contained in MOIS, plus Internet resources, site search, Michigan Career Pathways and National Career Clusters.
