MVS Basic courses suit independent learners

In MVS Basic courses the online instructor serves as a learning facilitator working with a larger class size than MVS Plus courses.

Here are the key elements of MVS Basic online courses:

  • MVS online instructors are highly-qualified, Michigan-certified teachers.
  • Course content is aligned to the Michigan Merit Curriculum and approved by the NCAA.
  • Courses are best suited for independent learners who have previously demonstrated academic success with minimal instructional support services.
  • MVS provides technical help desk services.
  • Student-to-teacher interaction is largely based on student needs.
  • Courses are available in 6-, 12- and 18-week formats.

Literacy Advantage courses
MVS Basic courses are also being offered in the Literacy Advantage course style. Literacy Advantage courses are standards-based general studies courses that meet the needs of students who are reading below proficient. Courses assist students in mastering required content in algebra, biology, English, geometry, physical science and U.S. government & politics to earn credits toward high school graduation while simultaneously developing general and academic literacy skills. Course materials
